Hyderabad: Genpact, a global professional services company, has announced that it is expanding the infrastructure in the city via a co-development agreement with Ramky Estates, a leading real estate developer. Genpact and Ramky Estates aim to develop approximately 2 million sft of commercial office space through the project "GENEXT SQUARE".
This is an extension of Genpact's ongoing commitment to support the growth of the IT industry in the eastern corridor of the city, under the LEAP (Look East Policy) and GRID (Growth in Dispersion) policy of the Telangana government. The policies aim to drive dispersed growth across the IT sector in the city, which has largely been concentrated in the western part of the city.
"The focus of the State government to grow eastern IT corridor will be a catalyst to further India's position as a global technology and digital hub," said Vidya Srinivasan, global Infrastructure and Logistics leader, Genpact.
"We started as a small company with two hundred people and are today listed on New York stock exchange and are over 23,000 people strong now. We continue to believe we are close to where the talent is and that's why we have our focus on second phase of this building in Uppal and it is our commitment to the Eastern corridor," Vidya said.
"We are planning 15,000 seats, this is our continued commitment to the eastern corridor of Hyderabad, we already have a large presence in Uppal phase one and in Pocharam and we will continue to grow in this place closer to the talent," she added
Genpact was among the first companies to set up a campus in Hyderabad's Uppal area, and recently set up a technology center in Warangal.
